We sailed around the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa!! SV Delos Sailing EP. 103
We sail our way into St. Francis Bay, South Africa! We arrive at night and are guided in by some awesome local dudes who we end up partying with quite a bit!
Your feedback on the last 360 video was pretty awesome Delos Tribe! Thanks for that 🙂 For this one each cut is 1 minute in a fixed location. When you get bored of looking around just jump to 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, etc for the next new view.
Sailing at 18 KNOTS down the WILD COAST of South Africa! SV Delos Sailing Ep. 102
After chilling out in Richards Bay waiting for a good weather window to sail south we finally get what we’ve been waiting for! 30 + knots of wind, 5+ knots of current and some big seas rocket us south along the Wild Coast of South Africa! Brian has to visit the local Dr. because of a strange bite on his hand, and we set sail once again to continue our passage!
Soooo cooool!!! It was such a pleasure to meet with Andy and Mia from 59-north.com. They’ve done **176 amazing podcasts** and we’re humbled to be in such good company!
Yup, the title is pretty accurate 🙂 As a celebration I put together this little Outtake Montage from 100 episodes, past and present. Thanks so much for staying with us through the best, and most awkward moments 🙂 Hope you enjoy!! Love Breeyawn, Kazza, and Mr. Brady
09:00 It’s 260 NM from Mossel Bay to Cape Town. The forecast is very light over the next two days and we decide to go for it. Better to have it light then against us.
08:00- What a nice feeling it is to sleep the whole night! Nothing like a solid 9 hours ? I peek my head out the aft hatch and find a cold, rainy, grey morning.
Day 3
00:00- The wind is starting to come out of the south now. It’s nice and light, about 10 knots so perfect conditions really. I cut the engine off and unfurl the genoa. Delos is now cruising along at about 7 knots and perfectly happy.
Sailing in 360 Video! (Pan With Mouse)- The Wild Coast South Africa- Sailing SV Delos
Sailing with our new 360 camera! This is **CURRENT** footage guys, as in shot two days ago…. Hope this doesn’t confuse the timeline. That’s why there’s a new dodger, more solar, and wind 🙂
WILD weather, WILD animals and AWESOME people! South Africa! Sailing SV Delos Ep.101
We made it to South Africa! After 2 weeks at sea and over 7 months with out being at a dock, we tie Delos up at the Zulu Land Yacht Club in Richards Bay, South Africa!
00:00 I’m pretty sure my head just hit the pillow, and yet here is Brady telling me it’s time for watch. Apparently I forgot to set my alarm. My bad bro! My head is fuzzy after only about 4 hours of sleep but it’s just enough.
0430- The alarm goes off and I find myself feeling pretty alert even though I didn’t get as much sleep as I had hoped. Tucker and Victoria lured us over to Convivia last night with the promise of rum and conversation.
Scuba Diving with SHARKS!! Bassas Da India – Sailing SV Delos Ep. 100
Sailing to South Africa we stop at remote Bassas Da India for a shark diving expedition!!!
Sailing in Madagascar isn’t just a sport, it’s a way of life for the local people!
Lemur Madness! Sailing through Madagascar- Sailing SV Delos Ep. 98
Madagascar is just one of those places that continues to blow us away! Our friend Rudy drew up a map of one of his favorite spots, which is just a short sail across the bay. We decide to go on an adventure in search of a holy tree, a water fall, and a village supposed to have lemurs and a massive tortoise.
Chagos is quite literally in the middle of the Southern Indian Ocean. With Asia 2000 miles to the east, Africa 2000 miles to the west, and India 900 miles to the north it’s one of the most remote places a cruising sailor can dream of.
Sailing doesn’t have to be expensive! Madagascar is a gem that we really fell in love with and it’s incredibly cheap living. Amazingly beautiful people, cheap cold beer, great food, and plenty of places to explore.
