I Don’t Want To Be Here Right Now π₯Ί Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 381
Some days we wonder why we choose this lifestyle…
The life of a sailor is full of the highest highs and lowest lows, and luckily when things get tough there’s usually some dolphins waiting around the corner to brighten up your day! Join us in this week’s episode for one of the roughest anchorages we’ve been to in years, forcing us to high tail it out at first light through an unsettled sea state. After rolling our guts out, we arrive to a marina in Papagayo where we get some tattoos, do some laundry, and navigate the overly complicated and lengthy process of checking out of the country. Then we make a little pit stop on our way out at one of the most famous surf breaks in the world before setting sail for our 500 mile sail to Mexico!

Skinny dipping at night in the middle of a glowing sea of what looks like millions of tiny fire flies in Costa Rica was one of our strangest and most amazing experiences ever! We noticed the bioluminescence when we pulled in a line from the side of the sail boat, and after experimenting throwing different things in the water, we decided to jump in! We were surprised to see some of things that can trigger the bioluminescence. I wonβt ruin the surprise for you on this one though, youβll have to wait and see for yourself πππ
But the same creatures that put on this stunning show are also responsible for another unbelievable phenomenon…We woke up in the middle of a hot, stinky, mass grave of THOUSANDS of dead fish all around us. What causes this? We found ourselves in the middle of a red tide event like we have never seen before. It’s pretty insane how such a tiny organism can create so much beauty and so much destruction.

Will This JUNGLE SHIP Disrupt a BILLION DOLLAR Industry? Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 379
Deep in the jungle of Costa Rica a team of boat builders are living in a community and building the largest active, clean, ocean going cargo vessel in the ENTIRE WORLD.
After sailing deep into the Bay of Nicoya in Costa Rica, we anchored right next to a river mouth where we could take our dinghy back into the mangroves. And amongst the wild jungle that surrounded us in every direction was a very special shipyard. Sail Cargo Inc. is a team of half Costa Rican and half international workers and dreamers who are living together in a community and building the first of what will become a fleet of wooden ships that will sail cargo on various routes around the world. We are lucky enough to go on a little tour around the place and learn more about this incredibly and totally mind blowing project. Learn more about Sail Cargo Inc and follow their progress at https://www.sailcargo.inc/

After nearly a decade of owning our dinghy Maggie, we’ve made almost no changes or upgrades to our set up because she is such an absolute beast. But her one slight downfall we’ve been coping with over the years is how incredibly hot she can get, causing our butts and feet to get practically scalded when the sun is cranking. So we finally decided to give Maggie a sexy new facelift and apply some Deck Tread from Total Boat to not only deal with the heat but to also provide some traction.
We also continue making moves north as we wave goodbye to the stunning Coiba National Park and head to our next Panamanian paradise: Isla Gomez. This is one of the coziest spots we’ve been in ages and we were completely blown away with how peaceful and beautiful it is. We had a bunch of Mahi in the freezer that we caught on our way out of Panama City, so we figured it was the perfect spot for a beach bon fire and a cook up!
