Our engine dies on the way to the Raja Ampat Dive Lodge. We finally make it to a mooring just in time to gorge ourselves on a massive buffet.

The crew sails to a deserted island in Raja Ampat to celebrate Karin’s Birthday! We explore the island, have a drunken beach day, check out an abandoned fishing hut, then have a raging all night bender of a party on Delos.
A definite bonus of traveling like Delos does is the freedom and flexibility you get. The ability to be spontaneous, to not be tied down, to just live in the moment is what makes this lifestyle so very special for us.
The Delos crew leaves Puerto Princesa in the Philippines behind and sets sail across the Sulu Sea. We stop at Tubbataha Reef for a week of wicked diving, then continue on to Malaysia!

A tour showing the outside and inside of Delos- our Amel Super Maramu 53! Delos is a 53 foot Amel Super Maramu. She was built in La Rochelle France in 2000 and has since seen what most sailboats dream of seeing.
“10. Tubbataha Reef: This is the undisputed king spot for diving, comparable to Malaysia’s Sipadan, but enormous. It’s an atoll way off in the Sulu sea and everyone without fail that I know that has been there has had nothing but ridiculous things to say that border on impossible.

I’ll be the first to say that diving Tubbataha reef was the last thing I saw myself doing this June. Apart from being convinced that I didn’t have the time away from work, I’d never really been sailing and I hadn’t been diving in 5 years (due to the minor issue of being allergic to saltwater!).
