Nope Nothing To See Here

Goodbye Straya! Its been a ‘rippa mate – By Brady

Its really hard to believe almost two years have gone by since sailing into Cairns, Australia from the Solomons. Apart from a 4 month break where each of us went to our respective corners of the world, we have lived, worked and traveled this amazing country the entire time.

Moonshiners! By Brian

Don’t get me wrong, we’re not absolute lushes but Delos does enjoy our daily sundowner, or two, or three… We were provisioning in Cairns to take us to Darwin, a trip of about a month in length and did the calculation. Alcohol here in Australia is stupidly expensive.

Cairns to the Cape–By Josje

Even though we had to wait a few extra days for “The Beast” ( Maggie, our new dinghy) to arrive, Cairns kept us busy before we started sailing north.

Going Over The Top– By Brian

It’s one of those wonderful brightly lit nights where the full moon dances on the wave tops and you can see the entire horizon even though it’s well past midnight.

Goodbye Queensland! By Brian

We left Cape York and Queensland behind and are right smack in the middle of the Gulf of Carpentaria!  It’s a 350 mile crossing and we hope to make landfall in Gove, Northern Territory tomorrow afternoon.

Meet Maggie… by Brady

We have some big news; Delos has a new addition in the family!  I know what your thinking and NO! Nobody is pregnant! Meet Maggie.  She weighs 75 kg, is beautiful and shiny, and laughs at the thought of carrying 10 people or the sight of a rocky beach…  We just got new dinghy!

No it’s not sweet and sticky….By Brady

Just an hours drive outside of Cairns is the beautiful Daintree National park; there is a welcome center here and a walk that leads up into the amazing tropical forest.

Starting Where We Left Off- By Josje

Its really nice to start a new adventure in the same place where we left our last one… A year and a half ago, we ended our south pacific journey in the backpacker city of Cairns, Australia. It was the finish line after a pretty epic adventure.

Downwind Sailing!- By Brian

It seems like the universal Karmic scales have balanced for Delos, giving back in spirit what was taken from us last season.

We’ve Gone Social!

Apparently there’s this thing out there called The Facebook and The Twitter and it seems to be catching on. We’ve given into social anti-social pressure and created a new position called “Social Media Deck Hand” AKA JosjeRama.

Back in Bundy! By Brady

I have been back on Delos for 12 days now.  It truly feels like I never left.   Its hard to believe that the last time I was here was over a year ago.

Cutting The Cord- By Brian

Getting off the dock is the first step and sometimes you just have to unhook that umbilical cord that delivers unlimited power and water and just do it.  Just get off the dock and see what happens.

It’s Good To Be Home

When we pulled Delos into the Bundaberg Port Marina last February there was a lot of uncertainty in my life. I honestly had no idea if this would be our last adventure together, or if by some lucky stroke of the stars I’d be allowed to continue on.

Onward To Fiji- Sailing SV Delos Ep. 12
