It was this time just about a year ago. Delos was in Thailand and we were preparing to cross the Indian Ocean. There are lots of stories about this immense body of water floating in the cruising community.

After weeks of work and pools of sweat the last and final steps of rigging Delos are completed! We get the forestay up and go sailing to tune the rig. The crew gets an invite to a Mexican restaurant from our friend Jeff we met in the local cruiser bar.

March, 2015- Phucket, Thailand. We work like dogs to finish up the rigging project. We make awesome progress but run into some problems with our forestay and the Ronstan pins provided.
It’s time to make a turn. A turn for good hope.
Once again I am back as “The Sailing Mum” on Delos and have the fantastic opportunity to be a part of her great crew. This time we are going to sail around the Cape of Good Hope.
We put Delos to the test in a fun little match race against Wild One, a Barramundi 470 cruising catamaran. Enjoy 🙂

Rigging Our Sailboat (Part 2 of 3)- Sailing SV Delos Ep. 62.
The crew gets amongst it and dives head first into changing the rig on our Amel Super Maramu. We pull down the old wires in sections, then head off to the rigging shop to cut, measure, and press our own swages.
With the season for crossing the Indian Ocean slowly closing and after finding a broken strand in Delos’s rigging the crew head for Phuket to figure out what to do next!

After a massive provisioning run the crew leaves Mayalsia and sets sail for Thai waters! We make our first landfall in Thailand by swimming to shore, Max ends up in the Hospital, we survive a nasty squall in Koh Lipe, and make our way north exploring lot’s and lot’s of sweet spots!
