Simplicity at sea–Day 3–By Josje

Our spirits are a bit higher today. The first clouds we’ve seen in days drift above us and so far into the distance they merge together at the horizon.

The sun is high in the sky and we set up the table outside for our sushi lunch. The wind is now a constant SE and Delos is comfortable enough we can roll our sushi and enjoy it with a bowl of soy sauce, ginger, wasabi, the whole lot. The tuna is perfect, it just melts in the mouth.

Spotted land this afternoon; Indonesia!! Turned 15 degrees to port to pass through these first southern islands and eased the sails out.

Sprawled on the deck, we laze in the afternoon sun, picking out shapes in the clouds, reading, sunbathing, napping and taking some sailing video.

The sound of the bottle popping out of the cleat astern awakes us in our daze. Fish on! Brady pulls in the hand line and we spot a beautifully colored mahi mahi on the other end. Unfortunately too small but lucky for the fish, Brady releases the hook and throws it back in.

With the wind still behind us, we opt for another meal outside, setting up the table in the cockpit again. Dinner of lasagna and some fancy sundowners, life is good. We all sit and watch for an hour or two as the sun sets behind some Indonesian islands and we make our way to bed with happy bellies.
