Scuba diving with an incredible amount of sharks at the remote atoll of Bassas Da India! On our 1,400 mile sail from Madagascar to South Africa we decide to make a little pit stop at one of the most epic diving places on the planet!
Drifting down the Mozambique channel – Sailing Vessel Delos Ep. 134
Sailing Action! We leave Madagascar for the 1,400 mile sail to South Africa. Only problem is the wind and weather are not cooperating with us and we find ourselves drifting in the Mozambique Channel with no wind. We have a long way to go and must conserve diesel fuel so we float around and get hit by a few squalls.

We rush to the cockpit, excitement in our bellies as we gaze at Delos’s new home- Ilhabela- ‘The Beautiful Island.’
We leave our beloved Nosy Be and begin the sail South towards South Africa! Along the way we decide to stop at a place called Moromba Bay, which looks really sweet on the charts. It turns out to be an epic place to explore. We load Maggie up with our gear and take off, flying the drone above us.

we’re in the middle of nowhere. far from land and far from any civilization. although two cargo ships crossed our way earlier today, but that doesn’t count.
“I am just a random 36 year old german dude from Berlin” 🙂 Our Patreon crew contest winner Jens arrives and brings his brother Uli as his +1! Within minutes we scoop them up from the airport, have them on Delos, and take them out for a pretty typical Madagascar party night.
Everyone is enjoying this time at sea. A lot of us aren’t ready for land just yet. I think the thing I’m going to miss the most when we near the island are the night watches.
I woke up the next day still feeling tired. I wanted to go back to sleep but Alex and Brian were in the lounge discussing a project. Sighing, I pulled back the curtain and swung my legs over the side.
